The National Research and Education Network (NREN)
The Science, Technology and Society Network (RCTS) provides Portuguese researchers, professors, students and university staff with an advanced communication platform whose features are designed to meet their demanding needs.
Introduction
The RCTS is a high-performance network for institutions with higher communication requirements particularly universities, public laboratories and polytechnics. It also acts as a test platform for advanced communications services and applications.
A wide range of infrastructure and connectivity services are made available through the RCTS. These support numerous applications and services related to Collaboration, Knowledge and Safety.
Not all of these applications and services require a network connection. Each application and service indicates whether a network connection is needed or if it can be accessed directly.
