Submission deadline: June 16, 2026

The Science and Innovation Meeting 2026 is launching a call for proposals to participate in the event's debate sessions. The initiative, themed "Preparing the Future," aims to support the ongoing process of defining strategic priorities for research and innovation in Portugal.

Members of the scientific community, businesses, organizations from various sectors, and public administration are invited to organize themselves into groups and identify specific issues to be considered by the Agency for Research and Innovation (AI²), as well as their respective scientific, societal, and/or economic factors and impacts. Each group should include at least four members from a minimum of three different types of entities. Participation from interdisciplinary groups with established collaborations is encouraged.

The selected proposals will serve as the basis for organizing debate sessions, distributed across various rooms during the Science and Innovation Meeting 2026, promoting broad and "bottom-up" participation. Each session will have a moderator and a rapporteur, and a summary of the main contributions will subsequently be presented publicly, which will be considered in the process of defining strategic guidelines for the next five years.

Proposals must be submitted using the appropriate form: Science and Innovation Meeting 2026 – Formavailable until June 16, 2026The evaluation will be conducted by the event's Organizing Committee. Notification of acceptance of proposals is scheduled for July 1, 2026.
