The 21st edition of International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC27) will take place in Lisbon, between the days February 9th and 12th, 2027, no Iscte – University Institute of Lisbon.
The event is co-organized by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), through the POLEN Research Data program, developed by its digital services unit FCCNtogether with Digital Curation Center (DCC) and the Iscte, reinforcing the commitment of these Portuguese entities to Open Science and the curation of research data.
THE IDCC is a A leading annual event in the field of digital curation., which It brings together experts, researchers, professionals and institutions from different scientific fields.The conference provides a privileged space for sharing best practices, debating policies, and strengthening communities dedicated to data management and curation.
Proposal submissions are now open.
The submission period for proposals is now open, with five types of contributions planned:
- Scientific articles;
- Short communications (Lightning Talks);
- Posters;
- Demonstrations (a new feature in this edition);
- Workshops.

“FAIR DO's: Centering People in the Stewardship and Curation of Digital Objects”
The central theme of the 2027 edition is... The role of people in the management and curation processes of digital objects and in the implementation of FAIR principles., which guide data to be findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable (FAIR: findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable).
This approach reinforces the importance of skills, collaborative practices and institutional frameworks necessary for a effective digital curation.
