The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), through its digital services unit FCCN, presents thePOLEN Sync,A nationwide service designed to support the scientific community in managing data during the active phase of research projects. This service provides a secure environment for storing, sharing, and synchronizing files among research team members, promoting agile and effective collaboration.
Enhanced information protection and compliance with best practices in research data management.
Based on Nextcloud technology, the POLEN Sync allows access to data from multiple devices., ensuring governance control, information protection, and compliance with standards and best practices for research data management.
During the pilot period, The service was tested in real-world contexts by several research teams., contributing to its validation and stabilization. With the pilot projects in their final stages, POLEN Sync is now moving into a new phase: The opening of the registration process for all FCT funding beneficiaries who wish to use the service in their projects.
Eligible FCT funding programs include Scholarships for advanced training, scientific employment, R&D projects, and advanced computing projects.
Access to POLEN Sync will be provided for the entire duration of the funded project, plus an additional period of 4 months, allowing for the completion of ongoing activities, the transition to other phases of the data lifecycle, and the safeguarding of the information produced.
