THE Arquivo.pt, a digital service of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), developed by FCCN, promotes, next March 24th, at 3pm, the first session of cycle online "Coffee with Arquivo.pt", with the theme "Feminist activism and digital memory: Archival practices and fragile data".
The session will include the participation of Carla Cerqueira and Daniel Cardoso, teachers in Lusófona University, with work developed in the areas of communication, media and activism. Participation is free, upon request. pre-registration.
FEMglocal project highlighted in the first session of the cycle.
With a special focus on the project FEMglocal – Glocal Feminist Movements: Interactions and ContradictionsThe session will include a theoretical framework, the presentation of results, and a sharing of the activities carried out.
The work carried out within the scope of the project made it possible to identify websites and other digital channels used by feminist movements, resulting in a relevant dataset for research. In this context, the challenge arises of preserving fragile and ephemeral digital content, which is frequently subject to disappearance.
As a contribution to this reflection, Arquivo.pt will present the workings of the processes for collecting and preserving content published on the Web on specific topics, such as feminism.
The FEMglocal project (PTDC/COM-CSS/4049/2021 / DOI 10.54499/PTDC/COM-CSS/4049/2021) is funded by national funds through the Foundation for Science and Technology, and also includes the participation of DivIntLab (CICANT) and the exploratory project DigiPlArt (2024.13064.PEX), also funded by the FCT.
The "Coffee with Arquivo.pt" series promotes knowledge about web preservation.
The "Coffee with Arquivo.pt" initiative aims to showcase the work being done in Portugal on preserving content published on the Internet, as well as to encourage the participation of researchers and citizens in this area.
