Interview – The Submarine Cables 26/April/2017
Our country has played a leading role in the worldwide submarine cable network since 1870, when the first submarine telegraph cable linking Portugal to the United Kingdom started its service.
Portugal’s geostrategic location and its capacity for innovation were essential elements for the country to be a point of mooring of international systems, promoting and facilitating the traffic between the continents and contributing to unite the communities.
Following the exhibition “O Cabo Submarino Num Mar de Conectividades” (The submarine cable in a sea of connectivity) at the Museu das Comunicações, FCCN’s general manager answered to an interview by Rádio Renascença about the theme. It can be listened at FCT | FCCN youtube channel (in Portuguese).
