Preservation service of the Portuguese web now includes two new functions: visualization with old browser and export of search results.

On 1 July, Arquivo.pt launched its new version - called Responsive - which includes several new features. The goal is to improve the user experience across different devices.

The first new feature concerns the inclusion of an option that allows you to view the preserved page also using a browser from the past. This functionality is made possible by redirecting to the oldweb.today service that emulates browsers of the past such as Netscape Navigator, Microsoft Internet Explorer or NSCA Mosaic.

This way, highlights Arquivo.pt, it is possible to access "the most faithful way possible to the original visual aspect of a page from the past".

On the other hand, the new version of Arquivo.pt now also allows the export of search results for further treatment and analysis. This is a function that may be especially useful for researchers who thoroughly analyse a given theme.

The functionality is available in the "Options", being necessary to choose the desired file format: XLSX, CSV or TXT.

These new functionalities come after Arquivo.pt presented a 100% responsive version adapted to mobile devices, with a simplified interface.
