RCTS Housing enables computer hosting in Datacenters managed by FCCN or in datacenters managed by FCCN certified partners.
Our datacenters are physical spaces specially conditioned to house IT equipment, in a long-term operation regime, with high availability and performance.
Who is it intended for?
Institutions can join the RCTS Housing service:
- Higher Education
- Research and Development
- Non-profit Institutions that have as their main objective Research and Development activities.
About RCTS Housing
RCTS Housing provides a data centre service integrated in the RCTS network, with excellent connectivity conditions for the hosted equipment and structured in several levels.
The spaces are specially conditioned to house IT equipment, in a long-lasting operating regiment, with high availability and performance.
The hosting service may take one of the following forms:
- In datacenter managed by FCCN, integrated in the RCTS backbone.
- In Public Administration datacenter with dedicated connection to RCTS
- In commercial datacenter with dedicated connection to RCTS
The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis, after evaluation of the proposal and analysis of factors such as technical availability and relevance of the project to FCCN's mission.
Terms of Use
Due to the nature of the RCTS Housing service, namely with the expressive and highly variable energy costs, the financial costs of the service are not included in the RCTS connection service, leading to a separate proposal, which in some cases, may be supported by FCCN.
In case of use of third party datacenters the user entity shall conclude a direct service agreement, including the financial conditions, with that third party entity.
