The 8th edition of Arquivo.pt Award is coming soon, and everyone is invited. Prepare your project to compete in the initiative that annually recognizes the most innovative projects that use the information preserved in the service. Arquivo.pt. Applications open in January and run until May 6, 2025.   

Those interested in competing in the 8th edition of the Arquivo.pt Award must submit a work on a topic of their choice, carried out in a group or individually, whose main source of information was the Arquivo.pt, a digital service from the FCT, developed through the FCCN. The initiative is open to anyone who wants to travel back in time.  

Three Awards and four Honorable Mentions  

The person responsible for the work that remains in 1st place in the 2025 edition of the Arquivo.pt Award receives a prize of 10.000€. The second place on the podium receives a prize of €3,000. And the third place winner receives a prize of €2,000. 

As in recent editions, the Arquivo.pt 2025 Prize will also award several honorable mentions. For the first time, Commemorative Commission 50 Years of April 25th distinguishes a work that uses the Arquivo.pt to address the theme “25th April and Democracy”, with the award of a prize of €5,000. 

In charge of Aveiro Media Competence Center Consortium (AMCC) is the distinction to projects focused on online media Portuguese, accompanied by a prize worth €500. 

THE DNS.pt Association (.PT) awards teachers that encourage students to carry out work using the Arquivo.ptThe winner of the category receives a check for €1,900 to purchase a laptop. 

THE Público newspaper, media partner of the initiative, distinguishes the works focused on the contents of this publication, preserved in the Arquivo.pt. Those selected will receive a two-year subscription to Público online.  

The initiative once again relies on the High Patronage of the President of the Portuguese Republic
