The initiative rewards the most innovative works that use the information preserved in the Arquivo.pt. To the registrations are open until May 6th and all interested parties can and should apply.
THE challenge consists of submitting a work, carried out iindividually or in a group, on any topic of your choice. The main requirement is the source of information for carrying out the project is: Arquivo.pt.
The application must include a text and a short video describing the work carried out. If it is a group project, the application must be submitted in the name of a single responsible person. Works that were not awarded in previous editions can compete again.
Professionals, students, researchers and all interested citizens can prepare your project and apply for the 8th edition of the Arquivo.pt Award. Teachers are also recognized in this edition, with an honorable mention that recognizes those who encourage the use of Arquivo.pt as a learning tool in the classroom.
Three Prizes: €15,000
THE 1st place in the 2025 edition of the Arquivo.pt Award receives a €10,000 prize. The second podium position wins the €3,000 prize. And the 3rd place is awarded with the value of €2,000.
As in recent editions, several honorable mentions are also awarded. For the first time, Commemorative Commission 50 Years of April 25th distinguishes a work that uses Arquivo.pt to address the theme “April 25th and Democracy”, with a prize of €5,000.
The remaining honorable mentions are awarded by Aveiro Media Competence Center Consortium (AMCC), for the DNS.pt Association (.PT) and by Public newspaper. The Arquivo.pt 2025 Award also has the High Patronage of the President of the Portuguese Republic.
Arquivo.pt Award over the years
Since the first edition in 2018, the Arquivo.pt Award already had 195 works to the competition, 27 distinguished projects and assigned more than €100,000 in prizes.
In 2024, the winner was the project "News – Challenging Perceptions”, a platform where users can compare media coverage on various topics through a game. It also allows users to explore trends over time through an analytical tool. Meet the winners of the latest edition of the Award here.
