FCT's digital service for education and science
IAedu is intended to be FCT's digital service, developed by FCCN, which aims to democratize access to Artificial Intelligence.
This platform provides centralized and simplified access to large-scale language models (LLM), saving time and resources. It makes the Pro version of multiple Artificial Intelligence models available for free on a single portal, through individual federated authentication.
It aims to democratize access - for higher education students and researchers - to emerging technologies, to promote equity and avoid inequalities in the use of resources that can transform learning and drive innovation.
Our goal is also to create synergies and economies of scale through centralized contracting and provision, while ensuring efficiency through knowledge sharing and joint learning.
The IAedu pilot project was thus born, adding to a set of more than 25 FCT digital services, developed by the FCCN, which boost technology and promote knowledge in Portugal.
Entities interested in joining this pilot project should fill in the application form.
To whom it is addressed
Institutions can join the IAedu service:
- Higher Education
- Research and Development
- Non-profit Institutions that have as their main objective Research and Development activities.

The IAedu service aims to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies into the education and science sector in Portugal. This service aims to improve the quality of teaching and research through the use of advanced AI tools.
