The project POLLEN is being developed by FCCN, digital services unit of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), with the aim of responding to the needs of the scientific and teaching community in the area of Research Data Management (IDM). It also aims to promote the principles and practice of Open Science, ensuring the sharing and preservation of research data generated within the scope of publicly funded projects.

The project is based on 4 interconnected axes of action:

  • Governance and policies, aiming to define a strategy for GDI and the adoption of a policy on the management and sharing of data resulting from research funded by the FCT.
  • Services and infrastructure, providing the community with resources for effective management and sharing of research data, including:
    • Data Management Plan System – Now available;
    • Research Data Repository Service – Under development.
  • Communication, dissemination and training, promoting the adoption of the FAIR principles (findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable data) and Open Science. These activities also aim to publicize the implemented services, provide informational materials, and promote training and capacity-building activities.
  • Alignment with national and international initiatives relevant in the area of GDI and Open Science.
