Open Science is scientific activity conducted in an open, collaborative, and transparent manner, facilitating the sharing and communication of processes and results. It aims to raise awareness and promote Open Science practices among the research community, science administrators, students, and the general public. FCCN, the digital services of the Foundation for Science and Technology, is hosting this online event on October 25th at 10:00 am.
THE webinar “Open Science in Expansion: New Models, Assessment and Open Data” is part of the celebrations of International Open Science Week and will include a review of what has been accomplished in this field to date, as well as news and some indicators. The session will also cover New Models of Scientific Communication, the Diamond Initiative, and the National Open Science and Open Research Data Program, a measure integrated into the investmentRE-C05-i08 – More Digital Science financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP), as well as the theme of Research Assessment.
Several members of the FCT Open Science team and the FCCN digital services unit will join the initiative. The FCT representative will also be present at National Chapter of COARA.

The 2023 edition
This initiative also took place in 2023, about which several participants left their opinion: “It is very important that you maintain and even increase these sessions.” and “Thank you for the opportunity to ask questions and have them all answered” were some of the feedbacks shared.
