THE IAedu, digital service of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), developed through FCCN, and launched in May 2025, sees the first entities to join the pilot phase.

At this first stage, IAedu is accessible in its beta version to the FCT | FCCN and the first protocolled entities, allowing to test functionalities, collect feedback and prepare the service for wider availability. The functionality for creating custom virtual agents, focused on the academic community and reserved for the Professor profile, is also available, and these profiles are visible to all users.

Over the next few weeks, IAedu will be available to more higher education and research institutions in Portugal.

About IAedu

Developed in partnership with Microsoft Portugal, the digital service promotes a equitable, safe and efficient use of Artificial Intelligence in higher education. Through a single, open-access portal, users can access multiple large-scale language models (LLM), such as OpenAI GPT-4o, Mistral and OpenAI o4-mini, with federated authentication via institutional credentials (RCTSaai).

Institutions wishing to make this service available to their community can express their interest through membership form available on the IAedu platform. Any suggestions or questions can be sent to the address iaedu@fccn.pt
