Launched in February 2025, the Open Access Policy The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) has made it mandatory to make scientific publications resulting from research it funds available in open access. The measure applies to scientific articles, books, book chapters and monographs, as well as doctoral theses and master's dissertations.
In order to support the scientific community in complying with this Policy, the FCT created a Support page with all the necessary instructions. for authors subject to the obligation of publishing in open access.
THE new website, available at acessoaberto.fct.pt, provides, in a clear and practical way, An interactive guide that helps identify the different routes available to ensure open access. in each of the publication types, providing detailed instructions on how to proceed in each case.Furthermore, the website It also clarifies frequently asked questions about the open access publishing process and explains in detail the objectives of the policy.
With this tool, Authors and institutions will now have direct and intuitive support. in compliance with the Policy.
