THE NAU is athe platform online managed by the FCCN unit of the FCT and co-financed by Compete 2020. It is a pioneerthe at a national level in supporting teaching and formation of large groups. Learn more about 5 of the dimensions that make up this course platform for large audiences. 

#1 and-readrning 

Visa respond to the needs of distance learning, both for public administration employees and citizens, which wconcentrates the publication of courses for large audiences on a single platform, reducing investment, operational and advertising costs, at the same time what develops and promotes good practices, sharing of knowledge and experience. 

#2 MOOCs 

Intend to give resposta the increased demand for online courses, that has been changing the way schools, universities and organizations produce and make available   content in their curricula. Increasingly, self-learning processes are being promoted by students and trainees, such as the MOOC training model – Massive Open Online Course – a distance learning format, open and accessible to all, interactive and online, accompanied by tools that allow training a large number of people, in a sustainable and economical way.  

Surgent like this as a bet on this format, responding to the limited presence of Portugal and the Portuguese language in this space, maximizing the projection of knowledge at a national and international level.  

#3 Interaction 

THE NAU provides an independent and scalable technological means for the dissemination of MOOC content, promoting universities as producers of excellent content. Therefore, this is a fundamental tool for the dissemination of science and the projection of institutions nationally and internationally.. 

In each course, after prior registration on the platform, citizens, students and professionals from different areas, you will find videos, interactive activities, questions, support materials for understanding the content and supporting documents 

The project can be closely followed through the statistics page updated daily at: https://www.fccn.pt/indicadores/, where it is possible to observe the existence of more than 70,000 registered users, 115,000 course enrollments and over 55,000 certificates issued. 

 #4 Collaboration 

NAU is the result of a consortium across the Public Administration, what involves the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), the Directorate-General for Education (DGE), the Directorate-General for Health (DGS), INA – Directorate-General for the Qualification of Workers in Public Functions, the Institute of Employment and Vocational Training (IEFP) and the General Secretariat of Education and Science.  

FCT is the entity responsible for managing the project, creating and providing the infrastructure  IT, continuing the platform after the Project's funding phase. The partner entities share responsibilities for public administration training and/or citizen (in)formation, and have therefore developed and are offering courses at NAU in a wide range of areas.

#5 Language 

As a reference platform to support learning content in Portuguese, NAU assumes itself as a resource international, accessible to all communities in Portugal and other Portuguese-speaking countries. This is, in fact, the target audiencetarget for which are to the to dispose learning contentm oriented towards teaching and training in the native language of more than 250 millions of people around the world.
