The second edition of the Arquivo.pt Award is accepting entries until May 3rd.

After, in 2018, the first edition awarded three proposals for the use of the collection digitally preserved in the Portuguese web archive, the Arquivo.pt Award is back in 2019.

The competition follows the same format as the previous edition and is open to all interested parties, regardless of their area of study or activity, with a total of €15,000 in prizes (€10,000, €3,000 and €2,000).

The second edition of the Arquivo.pt Award sets a deadline for submissions of May 3rd, at 1:00 p.m. Applications must be submitted in Portuguese, via an online form, including a project description and a short video.

Proposals, whether individual or group, may, for example, consist of research projects that use Arquivo.pt resources or discoveries of useful applications of the archive for society.

The big winner of the first edition of the Arquivo.pt award was the “Tell Me Stories” project, led by INESC TEC researcher Ricardo Campos. The platform (www.contamehistorias.pt) offers a temporal narrative based on news published online about a given topic.
