The delivery and announcement of the winners of the Arquivo.pt Award 2019 will be carried out by His Excellency Prime Minister António Costa at “Science 2019 – Meeting with Science and Technology”, during the plenary session that will take place on July 8th from 9:00 to 11:00 in Auditorium 1

THE Arquivo.pt is a research infrastructure managed by the FCCN Unit of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) that allows research and access to millions of pages collected from the web since 1996. The main objective is to preserve information published on the web and provide a public research service for memory, study and research purposes.

THE Arquivo.pt Award counts on the High Patronage of His Excellency the President of the Republic Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa and aims to annually reward innovative research work based on historical information preserved by Arquivo.pt. As last year, the Prize will recognize three works.

The competition will reward original and innovative works that have Arquivo.pt as their main source of information and that demonstrate the usefulness of the Arquivo.pt service and the importance of preserving and using the information published on web.

The first place winner will receive 10,000 euros; the second place winner will receive 3,000 euros; and the third place winner will receive 2,000 euros.

The competition phase ended on May 3rd and received proposals for work in areas such as social communication, education, design, IT, health and cultural and historical heritage.
