Another edition of the International Open Access Week begins today and continues until October 27th. This global event features local activities, aiming to promote Open Access to Knowledge, with the theme: Open for Whom? Equity in Open Knowledge

This initiative began in 2007 with an “open access day” and has been growing since 2009, having been extended and transformed into “Open Access Week”.

As usual, this is an event promoted by SPARC (Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition). All information related to international activity is available at www.openaccessweek.org.

The accession of the RCAAP Project This initiative is part of its communication activities. Its purpose is to create synergies to make this week a significant national event, impacting the scientific and academic community. This will reinforce the importance of institutional repositories and, consequently, promote Open Access in Portugal.

We recommend that all Institutions/Magazines send us, in different formats, all the activities they intend to carry out in this area.

We invite each of you to consult the website, to reuse the promotional materials, to consult and apply them.

Individual or collective initiatives are important!
