The initiative recognizes the most innovative works that utilize information preserved on Arquivo.pt. All interested parties can register until May 6th.
Applications are now open for the 7th edition of the Arquivo.pt Award. The challenge consists of submitting a work, carried out individually or in a group, on any topic, which has as its main source of information the Arquivo.pt.
This initiative is open to all interested parties. Professionals, students, researchers, and even ordinary citizens can travel back in time and submit their application. until May 6, 2024. The submitted project must be accompanied by a text and a short video, describing what was accomplished.
Three prizes: €15,000
THE 1st place will receive a prize of €10,000 The second-place entry will receive €3,000. Third place on the podium will receive €2,000.
In this edition, three honorable mentions will also be awarded. first by the media partner of the initiative, the newspaper Público, and which will be used for work focused on the contents of this publication preserved in the Arquivo.pt.
The Aveiro Media Competence Center (AMCC) consortium will also award an honorable mention, this time to projects about the online media Portuguese. Finally, the DNS.pt Association (.PT) will award teachers that encourage students to carry out work using Arquivo.pt.
The initiative has the High Patronage of the President of the Portuguese Republic.
Arquivo.pt Award over the years
Since 2018, the year of the first edition, the Arquivo.pt Award has had 168 works in competition and has led to the emergence of dozens of use cases. Arquivo.pt, studies and applications, in various areas of knowledge.
THE The initiative also distributed a total of €90,000 and distinguished 21 works. In 2023, the winner was the project “Time travel on rails”, an online platform that analyzes and presents the evolution of train travel times in Portugal, based on schedules preserved on Arquivo.pt.
