THE FCT, through its digital services unit, FCCN, developed the training “CSIRT in a Box: Initial Training of Incident Response Teams”, available on the NAU platform. The registrations are open until May 8th of 2025.
Cybersecurity is a crucial issue in an increasingly digital society. To effectively combat the threats arising from this process, the need to create Computer Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs) becomes evident.
The course “CSIRT in a Box: Initial Training of Incident Response Teams", developed by the FCT and FCCN, aims to influence the creation of new CSIRT teams. From human capital training to the provision of tools open source, at the end of the course, the trainee acquires a global vision of the process of creating this type of team, as well as the main activities that these professionals perform on a daily basis.
Carlos Friças, FCT cybersecurity service manager, highlights that "with the imminent transposition of the NIS2 directive into Portuguese law, responding to cybersecurity incidents is one of the most important pieces of the puzzle. In this context, the FCT cybersecurity team, one of the oldest incident response teams in our country, considered it essential to develop this online course, accessible to anyone interested in this topic."
The course is available completely free of charge, with an estimated effort rate of two hours and the registrations are open.
THE NAU project is co-financed by Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).
