Information is crucial, especially when it's valid. It's essential to stay up-to-date, especially if you work in an environment that evolves at lightning speed.
It's important to be part of the community, participate in meetups, conferences, read blogs, websites, publications, give talks—basically, be everywhere. Even so, threat actors are always alert and one step ahead. They're always looking for new ways to reinvent themselves, changing their modus operandi in order to bypass the security measures that cybersecurity teams put in place.
BlackHat USA 2023
Understanding how important it is to stay up to date on the latest techniques and methods used by attack teams and threat actors, I was able to attend the conference. Black Hat USA 2023, for the first time.
At this conference, it was possible to meet suppliers, talk to members of cybersecurity teams, developers, CISO, and others. More than 22,750 participants attended. The knowledge was all concentrated in one place for a week. Who knows, maybe you'll have the opportunity to chat with someone you truly idolize.
A huge Arsenal
The Arsenal, you developers They showcase the latest tools they've been working on and how they can help in everyday life, especially for those who manage infrastructures supported by open-source tools. Here, I had the opportunity to see them in action and experiment, ask questions, interact, and socialize.
The Business Hall, there were the suppliers' stands, where it was possible to experience software/hardware more developed and get to know each other's products better. In stands, incredible gifts were acquired.
By having these two spaces in the same location, we've created the perfect place to ask all the questions whose answers help us make structured and informed decisions regarding protection against threat actors.
Preparation is everything
During the conference, parallel sessions also took place. Each session featured an expert speaking on the agenda topics. There were so many sessions, each so relevant, that it was difficult to choose.
Before the conference, the Black Hat provided so many training courses that with so many interesting choices it became difficult to choose just one.
I highly recommend attending. You'll have a great time, be surrounded by great minds, and have the opportunity to speak with them. You have nothing to lose, and they'll share their knowledge with you so you'll be well-informed and better prepared.
It's crucial to do your homework. You don't want to arrive unprepared for what you want to do and see. Otherwise, you'll miss out on many of the best moments.
