The award that distinguishes innovative uses of the information preserved in is back, in 2023. A total of 15,000€ in prizes will be awarded.  

The sixth edition of the Prize was officially launched on January 23rd by this service of the FCCN Unit, which has been preserving online information collected from the web since 1996. Applications are open until May 4th.  

The challenge launched, open to all interested parties, is simple: submit a work, done individually or in groups, on any theme, provided that is the main source of information. In 2022, the work "Parliament's Archive", created by Tiago Santos, was the big winner.  

Besides three prizes - worth 10.000 euros, 3.000 euros and 2.000 euros - the 2023 award also includes two honorable mentions. One will be awarded by the Público newspaper (to works based on the contents of this daily newspaper preserved in and another by the Aveiro Media Competence Center (to works focusing on the web archive of one or more centenary newspapers provided by this platform).
