Scomputer security incident response service from the Science, Technology and Society Network – RCTS organizationor a “Capture” event The Flag”, between 4 and August 6th, with a duration of 50 hours.
The event consisted of 21 challenges, and had 46 teams registered, of which 27 completed at least one of the proposed activities. The exercises presented focused on techniques such as reverse engineering, encryption, going through operations of web hacking or forensic analysis. Other challenges were developed in the areas of steganography and wifi. All participation was exclusively remote.
The CTF was won by the team xSTF (xstf.pt), made up of students from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, who solved all the challenges in just over 6 hours. In second and third place were the teams “iamroot” and “TeamRocketIst” who also fully resolved the 21 challenges - although in intervals of superior timees.
THE feedback of the participants, to whom we thank for their participation, was very positive, which is a strong incentive to organize another event of this type, next year.
