Higher education and research institutions benefiting from funding instruments from the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) must submit applications or expressions of interest to Polen by January 20, 2023.
The period for expressing interest and applying for the use of the Polen Research Data Repository Service, in its pilot implementation phase, is now open. Selected institutions will have the opportunity to utilize and play an active role in testing the research data repository, issue recommendations or suggestions for improvement, ensure the deposit of research data for your project (up to a predetermined volume) and convey the concerns of the national scientific community with regard to the issue of depositing and safeguarding your research data.
Aimed at higher education institutions and/or R&D entities that are beneficiaries of FCT funding instruments, this competition has a projected budget of €30,000, with a minimum funding limit of €5,000 per selected application, up to a maximum of 6 applications. This funding is awarded from funds resulting from a SAMA project called “Digital Transformation in Research: Science Management and Open Science”, with identification POCI-05-5762-FSE-000438.
The Polen project aims to promote Open Science and meet the community's needs for research data management. This initiative envisages the creation of several services that enable members of the teaching and research community to effectively manage and share research data, through three fundamental elements: a data management plan system, a research data repository service, and a community support and advocacy service.
