It is now possible to guarantee your presence at 5th edition of the Advanced Computing Meeting, which takes place on October 22nd and 23rd, at the Rectory of the University of Aveiro.

The event brings together the national community linked to the area of High Performance Computing: users, researchers, technicians and decision-makers with the aim of promote collaboration and skills development. This is the meeting point between academia, industry, public administration and research centers.

Main highlights of this edition

At the heart of the event will be the sharing of knowledge and discussion about the evolution of Advanced Computing in Portugal and Europe, the opportunities of National Center for Advanced Computing (CNCA) and the use and access to Deucalion and MareNostrum 5 supercomputers, funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.

In addition to these themes, this edition includes: emphasis the newly created Artificial Intelligence Factories (AI) and news from Quantum Computing.

The 1st day, October 22nd, begins with workshops for the introduction and optimization of computational work with demonstrations of the Deucalion supercomputer, followed by sessions dedicated to the National Center for Advanced Computing and technical support for users.

The 2nd day, October 23rd, will be marked by presentations by access to national and European resources and panels dedicated to Quantum Computing and AI Factories, including sharing cases and experiences of using these resources.

Registration is free on the meeting website, with the program also available there, which is constantly updated. All the speakers and moments of the meeting, namely the social aspect that will promote networking among the participants, will be announced over the next few weeks.

This is an initiative organized by FCCN, digital services of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), and which has the support from the National Center for Advanced Computing, co-financed by National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR). This edition is also joined by the organization University of Aveiro and the EuroCC, financed by the European initiative EuroHPC.
