The program for the first edition of PUB IN Meeting - journals and scientific communication for open science -, which takes place on June 19 in Lisbon, includes thematic panels, workshops and much more.
This is an event organized by FCCN, the digital services of the Foundation for Science and Technology, and the University of Minho, which will take place at the National Civil Engineering Laboratory.
This meeting aims to bring together the national publishing community in order to develop technical skills, capitalize on knowledge and promote the sharing of good practices in the field of open science.
Thematic panels, workshops, Flash Talks and Zapping PUB IN make up the initiative
Throughout the day, there will be several moments in the program of this first edition. The morning begins with the thematic panel "Diamond Open Access: towards a national and global community", which will feature keynote speaker Johan Rooryck, executive director of cOAlition S and visiting professor at Leiden University.
Joining the debate in this first session are João Mendes Moreira, area director of FCCN and Tiago Villanueva, deputy director and editor-in-chief of Acta Médica Portuguesa. Bruno Marçal, deputy director of the João Paulo II University Library at the Portuguese Catholic University and Eloy Rodrigues, director of the Documentation and Library Services at the University of Minho will also take part in the panel.
In the morning, there will be a Flash Talk, in which different spokespeople will take to the stage to present case studies and projects in the field of journals and scientific communication for open science .
After lunch, two workshops will take place : the first will deal with "Good practices and innovations in scientific publishing: priority lines of action towards Open Science", while the second is entitled "The path of journal indexing: from aggregators and directories to international databases" .
This will be followed by a second Flash Talk where other projects will be presented. The initiative ends with the dynamic Zapping PUB IN, where the services of the national PUB IN initiative will be presented in just 4 minutes.
