Pparticipating makes a difference!
GILM – Informal Group on Media Literacy organizes the 9th edition of the 7 Days with the Media initiative, taking place between May 3 and 9, 2021, and invites everyone to participate. Schools, associations, libraries, clubs, social media, digital platforms, universities, families… are challenged to create an initiative (workshop, webinar, video, podcast, or other activity) that focuses on media, their uses, critical analysis, and production.
In a year in which we've had to confine ourselves to our homes, screens have become even more prevalent in our lives, whether for work, study, entertainment, or our relationships and communication with others. It's therefore important to dedicate some time, however brief, to reflecting on their importance in our daily lives, how they help shape our opinions, how they contribute to our perception of the world, and what they reveal to us and what they don't. This will certainly be a way for us to develop a more critical perspective and attitude toward how we use media and how, through them, we communicate and express ourselves.
The media in times of pandemic, the infodemic and disinformation, and the social and digital inequalities that have become more visible during this time are some of the topics we've highlighted for this edition of the initiative, without, however, closing the door to other themes.
As in previous years, the Safe Internet Center – Awareness Center, join this initiative. Also join the media week by doing the REGISTRATION of your initiative. Participating makes a difference!
