Another edition of International Open Access Week starts today and lasts until 27 October, a global event with activities on a local scale, which aims to disseminate Open Access to Knowledge, with the theme: Open for Whom? Equity in Open Knowledge

This initiative began in 2007 with an 'Open Access Day' and has grown since 2009 and has been extended to become 'Open Access Week'.

As usual, this is an event promoted by SPARC (Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition). All information related to the international activity is available at www.openaccessweek.org.

RCAAP Project joins this initiative as part of its communication activities. Its purpose is to gather synergies to make this week a nationally significant event with an impact on the scientific and academic world and thus reinforce the importance of institutional repositories and, as a result, promote Open Access in Portugal.

We recommend that all Institutions / Magazines send us, in different formats, all the activities they intend to carry out in this area.

We invite each of you to check out the website, reuse the promotional materials, consult and apply them.

Individual or collective initiatives are important!
