Project Summary
Objectives
The purpose of this project is to reinforce the investment that FCT has been making in recent years in science management (PTCRIS/SCIENCEVITAE/SCIENCE ID) and more recently in the area of open science, particularly in research data management.
In this sense, the project comprised the following strategic objectives:
- Provision of infrastructure and services to support management and research data.
- Implementation of a national science and technology funding registry (SciPROJ).
- Implementation of a national register of science and technology outputs.
- Development of a system of Business Intelligence, based on national publication and funding records, to produce indicators that support management and decision-making processes.
- Development of a monitoring system for the FCT's open access (AA) policy to promote the policy and its adoption.
- FCT Open Access Policy Monitoring System. The FCT has an open access policy for the research results it funds. However, the level of compliance with the policy is low. This activity aims to promote this policy and its adoption, thus increasing the level of compliance and the potential impact of the funded research.
Overall, all proposed objectives were achieved, enabling the national Science and Technology (S&T) ecosystem to receive new infrastructure and essential services both for promoting open science and supporting science management.
