The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) will host a new edition of the cycle on March 11th.Archives of Knowledge: Science, History and Memorydedicated to Life and work of Miguel Eugénio Galvão de Melo e Mota, a pioneering researcher in the field of plant genetics in Portugal. A Participation is free., by prior registration until March 10th.
The initiative will take place at the FCT facilities and is part of a series of meetings promoted by the Science and Technology Archive, which aim to value and disseminate the documentary heritage associated with the history of science and science policies in the country.
Session program
Under the title “Miguel Mota, agronomist, researcher and professor: a man ahead of his time.The session will include a presentation by Professor Manuel Galvão de Melo e Mota, from Lusófona University, who will outline a in-depth portrait of scientific, academic and institutional career by Miguel Mota, highlighting his contribution to the development of research in plant genetics.
The moderation will be handled by Cláudia Henriques, a researcher at the Centre for Communication and Society Studies at the University of Minho.

In this session of the cycle, the Sharing knowledge about the biography and scientific contributions of Miguel Mota. It will be integrated into an environment of reflection and conversation, reinforcing the importance of preserving archives for the history of science in Portugal.
THE "Archives of Knowledge: Science, History and Memory" series has been establishing itself as a a space for reflection and sharing, promoting knowledge about figures, institutions and significant moments in science in Portugal, based on the collection preserved by the Science and Technology Archive of the FCT.
