What is “academic traffic” and “commercial traffic” in the context of the RCTS IP service?

Connectivity

“Commercial traffic” is communications originating on non-commercial networks.
Research and teaching do not belong to entities that have a direct traffic exchange link with RCTS or the GÉANT Network. "Academic traffic" refers to all other traffic from other sources.
