Although both services are based on audio and video transmission, they differ in terms of direction and audience reach. Designed for one-way communication from a small number of speakers or participants to large groups of viewers, video broadcasting (videocasting) allows the broadcasting of video from events such as seminars, conferences, or sporting events. Videoconferencing services (COLIBRI) are geared toward two-way communication between a limited number of participants, all with equivalent levels of participation and the ability to participate and "conference" whenever necessary.
