The 4th meeting of the Portuguese Network Operators Group (PTNOG) was held on 5th December at the premises of the National Scientific Computation Unit (FCCN).
Comprising 12 presentations, the meeting counted with the contribution of several international
participants, and several topics were in focus: IPv6, Data Centres,
Optical Adapters, Routing Security, DNS, Automation and
Cooperation.
During the works, the manager of the network area of the communications service of the FCCN Unit, Pedro Lorga, gave an update on the Gigapix platform, describing the developments that are expected for 2020 and reporting the surpassing of the 100Gbps threshold in terms of peak traffic observed.
The record number of participants was also surpassed:
a total of 45 representatives from 33 different organisations attended.
