In 2022, the FCCN Studio was refurbished, incorporating an acoustically treated voice-over booth, allowing voice content to be recorded in a controlled space with professional quality. Since then, this service has been used to record several podcasts. The person responsible for this structure, João Santos, tells us all about this type of work, detailing the support provided by the FCCN team.

What kind of support is given to those who come to record content like podcasts to the FCCN Studio?
Support begins even before the studio. There's a prior conversation to understand how people want to record. Since we do everything live, We want the recording to be as faithful as possible to what will be published. Before you start recording We also do preparation, in which we support the positioning of microphones, voice placement, among other technical aspects.
After the recording is done, we do all the sound mastering, compression and, if necessary, editing – all to ensure the content is of the highest possible quality. This way, the person leaves the studio with a file ready to publish on various platforms – the final product of podcast.
What advantages does the studio have for this type of work?
Recently, we carried out works and integrated a Sound Booth, as well as new microphones with great recording qualityWe also use the most up-to-date equipment, ensuring the studio is well-prepared and optimized for recording. The control room has excellent acoustics, which is crucial for understanding how sound will be transmitted to other devices, such as cell phones, computers, or cars.

There are several recording experiences of podcasts at FCCN Studio?
Yes, we recorded several podcasts, both internal to FCCN and external, such as the “Tell me your password”, the “Ecosystem Talks”, or the “Tea of the Day”We recorded many times voice-over for formats such as videos, phone calls and spots of radios.
Do you think this audio format will continue to grow?
When we created the voiceover booth, we started receiving a lot of requests—demand actually grew significantly. Now, I believe it's more stable and in a more established phase.
Today we have institutions that work with us to record podcasts on a regular basis, and others are always joining us, which means that this service continues to gain support.
