THE Arquivo.pt Award 2025, a distinction awarded by the digital service of the Foundation for Science and Technology, through FCCN, has closed applications and is preparing to announce the winners at the meeting Science 2025, on July 11th.
With 36 works in competition, one of the highest levels of participation in the history of the award, this edition is also marked by the largest number of award-winning projects, with a total of seven distinctions.
This year, the work, always based on the information preserved on Arquivo.pt, focused on different themes. 14 were part of the Technology branch and 13 focused on Social SciencesThere were also six projects on Art and Humanities and three related to Life and Biomedical Sciences.
The 2025 edition awarded three main prizes, in the amounts of €10,000, €3,000 and €2,000, and four honorable mentions delivered by partner entities of the Arquivo.pt Award, namely: Público newspaper, media partner, the Aveiro Media Competence Center Consortium – AMCC, the DNS.pt Association (.PT), with mention intended for teachers, and Commemorative Commission 50 Years of April 25th, with the mention dedicated to the theme “April 25th and Democracy”.
During the month of May the The Prize jury evaluated the works, having selected some to defend it in person. After these presentations, the jury selected the top three. The jury for each edition of the Arquivo.pt Award is made up of a group of invited experts from various fields, and this year included the participation of Manuela Pires da Fonseca, in the area of Ecology, of Maria Inacia Rezola, in History, of Paulo Dimas, for the Technology and of Paulo Leitao, dedicated to Information Science.
The winners will be announced at meeting Science 2025, during the closing session, which takes place on July 11th, at 5 pm. The awards ceremony can also be seen on the broadcast online of the event.

Since the first edition in 2018, the The number of registrations has been gradually growing. 2025 saw the second-best year in terms of participation..
The partners involved in this distinction, through the awarding of honorable mentions, have also been growing, allowing in 2025 seven different awards will be given, the largest number in the history of the Prize.
In terms of themes, the works entered into competition over the years of the Arquivo.pt Prize have a special focus on the areas of Arts and Humanities, of the Social Sciences and the Technology.
