Ten sessions over three days, with Ten speakers from four different institutions make up the Innovation Hub of... FCCN 2026 Conference, which takes place from May 5th to 7th, at the Faculty of Economics of University of PortoSpread across the three days of the event, this demonstration space gives voice to innovative projects that can help transform the daily lives of the community.
The Innovation Hub sessions will take place. in a space located next to the Exhibition Area, on the 2nd floor of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Porto, with a capacity for approximately 30 people in the audience.As usual, the event is characterized by the diversity of projects presented, aiming to open a space for debate and knowledge sharing, covering topics such as advanced cybersecurity, archive management, digital inclusion, and artificial intelligence applied to education and research.

- 1:30 PM – Filomena Parada (Lusófona University / CeiED) presents Listening to Young People on a European Scale: Digital Tools and AI at the Service of Participatory Research with Young People in the EDU-LAB, the experience of the EDU-LAB project and how digital tools and artificial intelligence allow young people to have a voice on a European scale.
- 1:45 PM – Mónica Alexandra Seabra Simões (National School of Public Health, Nova University of Lisbon) presents Beyond PDF: Improving the patient experience in interpreting laboratory results.How innovation in the presentation of clinical information can transform the relationship between healthcare professionals and patients.
- 4:10 PM – Ana Afonso (FCCN) presents Advanced Computing, the high-performance computing infrastructures and capabilities available to the national scientific community.
May 6th
- 10:40 AM – Ana Gonçalves (University of Porto) presents ALMA + PRIMO + RIALTO: from acquisition to discovery, the integration of the ALMA, PRIMO and RIALTO platforms at the University of Porto and the impact on the management and discovery of bibliographic resources.
- 1:15 PM – Augusto Ribeiro (University of Porto) presents Digitization and File Recovery: from storage to access, the journey between digitizing documentary collections and making them available to the public, in a project that combines preservation and accessibility.
- 1:45 PM José Augusto Silva (University of Porto) presents SIEM for protection at U.Porto, The implementation of a SIEM system at the University of Porto and the strengthening of the institution's cybersecurity posture.
- 2:00 PM Elisabete Seabra Neves (University of Porto) presents Communication with A3ES for the Course Evaluation process., the solution developed to optimize communication with A3ES within the scope of course evaluation and accreditation processes.
- 4:10 PM – Ivo Branco (FCCN) presents Google Tag Manager: NAU case, the practical experience of implementing Google Tag Manager on the NAU platform and the gains in terms of analysis and monitoring.
May 7th
- 10:40 AM – Rodolfo Matos (University of Porto) presents apps.up.pt: The Digital Gateway to the University of PortoThe apps.up.pt portal as an aggregator of digital services from the University of Porto and its importance for the user experience.
The diversity of institutions and themes present at the Innovation Hub is, in itself, a declaration of intent: the FCCN 2026 Conference is not just a stage for FCCN, it is an opportunity and a meeting point for the entire community.
THE The 17th edition of the FCCN Conference takes place from May 5th to 7th at the Faculty of Economy from the University of Porto, organized by FCCN, the digital services unit of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), with the University of Porto as the main partner.
