The next day October 24th, Coimbra will be the stage for the Workshop National Quantum Technologies – National Strategy for Emerging Technologies (ETE).

The initiative, which starts at 9:00 am, aims to give voice to the scientific and business community in the process of defining the National Strategy for Quantum Technologies.

THE workshop will have as its central objective to be a space of consultation and broad debate, bringing together researchers, companies and decision-makers. Throughout the day, the national panorama in Quantum Technologies will be presented and discussed., through interventions dedicated to computing, communications, sensors and teaching.

Panels, discussion sessions and poster presentations

The event will feature, among other moments, a panel on the challenges and potential of Quantum Technologies, and will have discussion sessions for each of its three pillars – Computing and Simulation, Communications and Sensors – culminating in the presentation of the summaries prepared by each working group. The initiative is the result of a joint organization between the Quantum@UC group, from the University of Coimbra, and the Quantum Communications group from the University of Aveiro, in close collaboration with the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), the National Innovation Agency (ANI) and the PLANAPP, entities directly involved in the preparation of the national strategic plan in this area.

The organization calls for a broad participation and dissemination of workshop, highlighting the importance of this moment to place Portugal at the forefront of the development and application of quantum technologies.
