An initiative by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and the Agency for Clinical Research and Biomedical Innovation (AICIB) supports research projects with 1.8 million euros.
The “Research 4 Covid-19” project was created to fund research and development projects and initiatives that respond to the needs of the National Health Service (SNS) in its intervention to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.
The FCT now reveals the results of this support. In total, 66 research projects will be funded. The overall investment is €1.8 million, coming from national funds, through the FCT's own budget.
A condition common to all 66 funded projects was outlined: all must present results within a short period, up to a maximum of three months. The list can be consulted. here.
Applications were open from March 24th to April 5th. The FCT anticipates the possibility of creating a second application period, taking into account the evolving situation. This will be assessed one month after the first phase closes.
