Technological and infrastructure upgrades at FCCN Studio will allow us to "better serve the RCTS community," emphasizes Multimedia Service Manager Nelson Schäller. Learn about the improvements implemented.
2022 brought with it new developments for the FCCN Studio. Renovations were carried out on this facility, which the FCCN Unit now offers its community, with improvements covering both the infrastructure and the technology used.
From an infrastructure perspective, one of the main new developments is the creation of an acoustically treated voiceover booth that will allow voiceovers to be recorded in a controlled space with professional quality. Furthermore, new spaces will be created, including a waiting room and technology demonstrations, a dressing room, a technical room, and a storage room.
The requalification of the FCCN Studio also aims to implement a upgrade technological, with the update of the realization system tricaster, allowing real-time 4K virtual production and scenography. On the other hand, the FCCN Studio will start using NDI technology (Network Device Interface) that allows video transmission over IP. This possibility brings with it several advantages, explains Nelson Schäller, "namely the potential for interoperability in content production with geographically dispersed studios, in real-time interaction."
According to Nelson Schäller, this is the upgrade most relevant project carried out at the FCCN Studio since its inception in 2009. Through this requalification, he reveals, it will be possible to “improve the conditions of the space and carry out a upgrade technological to better serve the entire RCTS community.”
"This is a natural technological evolution that will enhance the production of higher-quality educational content and facilitate, in the future, remote communication between this infrastructure and all institutions in our network," adds Nelson Schäller, before concluding: "It is a milestone in the technological evolution of Estúdio FCCN."
