Since 2022, October has been Digital Skills Month, a campaign that aims to promote these skills, which are increasingly relevant for the exercise of rights and freedoms.

This critical thinking is also essential for dealing with new forms of misinformation that may emerge in various digital spaces and spheres.

The latest ENISA report It's clear: "Between the end of 2023 and the first half of 2024, there was an increase in cybersecurity attacks, setting new records in terms of the variety and number of incidents recorded." Therefore, up-to-date knowledge of threats and attack response procedures are increasingly essential for citizens and organizations. Staying secure is a key skill for a cohesive cybersecurity strategy capable of responding to the latest threats.

Every day, about 402 million Terabytes are created around the world. This is a number that has grown considerably over the past few years. 

In a context where all citizens and organizations are content producers, communication skills are essential to ensure our message resonates within a highly saturated media ecosystem. Over the past decade, we have seen communication become a fundamental area in all sectors of activity.

The programming profession is currently one of the most sought-after in Portugal and worldwide. The reason is simple: as digital solutions grow and become more complex, having programming skills is an undeniable asset. This knowledge also provides a way to impact various sectors of a company, as internal processes are now often mediated or driven by digital tools.

#5 Artificial Intelligence

2023 has been dubbed "the year of Artificial Intelligence" due to the rapid growth in popularity and use of this type of technology. The market value of this industry is expected to increase 13 times over the next six years. 

On the other hand, 9 out of 10 organizations say they believe that Artificial Intelligence can give them a competitive advantage over their competitors. In this context, it will be increasingly important to have basic skills in interpreting and using these tools to maximize their potential.
