They already are open registrations for the 5th and final session of the cycle “Archives of Knowledge: Science, History and Memory”, which takes place in November 19th, at 2:30 PM in the small auditorium of FCCN facilities, digital services unit of FCT.
This session will include, in openingwith the interventions by Maria Paula Diogo, member of the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), Paula Meireles, coordinator of the Science and Technology Archive, and John Nuno Ferreira, vice-president of FCT and general coordinator of the digital services unit, FCCN.
You guest speakers they are Ruben Almeida, of the INESC TEC – FEUP, who will give a presentation entitled My Region – Your Local Government Portaland Joaquim José, of the Polytechnic Institute of Guarda, who will talk about “Memor.pt – Explore the Portuguese Digital Memory”both winners of the Arquivo.pt Prize 2025, 1st and 2nd places, respectively. The session will be moderated by João Gomes, area director of FCCN, digital services unit of FCT.
THE "Archives of Knowledge: Science, History and Memory" seriesThe event, organized by the FCT, has been taking place since February of this year, with the aim of to disseminate the documentary collection of its Science and Technology Archive., as well as other relevant to the history and memory of Science and Technology in PortugalThe sessions are short and take place in an informal, collaborative environment. THE Science and Technology Archive (ACT) is unique in the history of scientific activity in Portugal, with the function of to preserve and manage the documentary memory of national scientific production., translated into thousands of applications supporting grants, institutions and research projects. Open to the public since December 16, 2011, it has a significant documentary collection that includes, in addition to the FCT's own archive from 1997 onwards, the collection of the National Board for Scientific and Technological Research (JNICT), from 1967 to 1997, and other public and private bodies, essentially in the area of science policy and funding in Portugal.
