It is expected that the Framework Agreement “OCRE – 2024” begin at the end of 2024 and remain in force for a period of 5 years. The period for joining OCRE 2024 has been extended to January 2024, with the deadline to be confirmed in due course. The current, and first, OCRE Framework Agreement is in force until November 2024.
The Association GÉANT, which brings together Europe's national research and education networks, has concluded successive Europe-wide Framework Agreements for commercial cloud services. FCT, national member of the GÉANT Association, has promoted, through its unit FCCN and, in coordination with the General Secretariat, the aforementioned Framework Agreements with the national higher education and research communities. The Framework Agreement currently in force has achieved very significant results in Portugal, with 14 national contracting entities.
For the future Framework Agreement, the FCT launched a call for expressions of interest, which received a historic, unprecedented response. with more than 100 national entities confirming their interest.
As in previous processes, in order to benefit from the contractual conditions of the future framework agreement, entities must signal their interest.
