The Agency for Administrative Modernization (AMA) awarded the Silver Seal of Usability and Accessibility to the institutional website FCCN.PT, recognizing the commitment of FCCN – digital services of the Foundation for Science and Technology – to the best practices for web accessibility and usability

This seal represents compliance with a comprehensive set of requirements, focused on the clarity and accessibility of content, navigation structure, and user interaction experience. The evaluation considers adapting the website to a more inclusive experience for all users, regardless of their sensory, motor or cognitive abilities.

"This recognition shows that we are on the right track to making our platforms more accessible and inclusive. We are committed to continuing to evolve and implement improvements that benefit all users." says Salomé Branco, Deputy General Coordinator of FCCN, FCT digital services

Accessibility and Usability as a Priority at FCCN

THE digital accessibility has been a top priority at FCCN, with the entire team committed to making its services more inclusive and accessible. In 2024, FCCN will continue working to standardize and improve the accessibility of its service websites, ensuring consistent application of accessibility guidelines that aim to facilitate the experience for all users.

In this standardization process, FCCN websites will follow a coordinated approach to applying design guidelines and branding where flexible methodologies are adopted, adjusted to the specific needs and characteristics of each platform, allowing a balance to be achieved between a unified image and the design flexibility necessary to respond to the demands of different types of content and interaction.

In the coming months, progressive updates to FCCN's websites are expected to bring improvements in usability and accessibility, potentially accelerating the process for more platforms to obtain the Accessibility and Usability Seal.

The Silver Seal of the FCCN.PT website can be seen in the footer, where there is also a link for the Accessibility and Usability Statement, which can be consulted for more details.

This certification program, promoted by AMA and the National Institute for Rehabilitation, aims to ensure that public digital services are accessible to all, in a simplified and efficient manner, benefiting all citizens and responding to the most diverse needs.
