The "OCRE - 2024" Framework Agreement is expected to start at the end of 2024 and run for a period of 5 years. The accession period for OCRE 2024 has been extended to January 2024, with the deadline to be confirmed in due course. The current, and first, OCRE Framework Agreement runs until November 2024.

The GÉANT Association, which brings together Europe's national research and education networks, has signed successive Europe-wide Framework Agreements for commercial cloud services. FCT, a national member of the GÉANT Association, has been promoting these Framework Agreements through its unit FCCN and in conjunction with the General Secretariat, these Framework Agreements to the national higher education and research communities. The Framework Agreement currently in force has achieved very significant results in Portugal, with 14 national contracting entities.

For the future Framework Agreement, the FCT launched a call for expressions of interest, which received an unprecedented and historic response, with more than 100 national entities confirming their interest .

As in previous processes, in order to benefit from the contractual conditions of the future framework agreement, entities must signal their interest.
