The University of Coimbra hosted the 8th edition of the Research Data Management Forum (GDI), which brought together 127 participants.

November 25th and 26th marked the in-person event in Coimbra, which once again had a good turnout, moments of sharing and debate.

The FCCN Unit's Open Access Scientific Repository has been promoting community gatherings since 2016. It aims to bring together those involved in research data management support activities, with the aim of capitalizing on knowledge and practices and developing technical skills for professionals and researchers in the field.

This forum had 3 workshops of training and qualification, current and relevant. One of the workshops was dedicated to Data Management Plans, with the aim of supporting the Research support staff. The second workshop focused on Data Curation in Repositories, namely in workflows and services. The third workshop revealed the Institutional Policies and Strategies for GDI, presenting an analysis of reference policies and a proposed structure for the implementation of an institutional policy.

This year's GDI edition also featured the usual session “Café com Dados” which, this time, addressed the theme of Data Protection, Security and Sensitive Data

With the annual Forum, RCAAP aims to ensure good security practices, provide the best tools to apply them and promote knowledge sharing.

Another hot topic was the Flash Talks: a time to discuss the most current emerging initiatives and projects, where it is possible to build and prepare resources that help our community in its daily activities.

If you were not present and want to consolidate your knowledge in the area of GDI, you can still watch all the presentations and recordings, available at website.
