Working collaboratively doesn't require being in the same room—and in teaching and research, that flexibility is golden. FCCN, the FCT's digital services unit, offers a set of digital services that connect people, projects and institutions, digitally and without borders.

Here is the guide to collaborate to innovate, in just 5 steps:

1. Record in the professional studio available to the Teaching and Research community

Collaboration means using the right, quality tools to convey a message. FCCN Studio allows this, being the space that brings ideas and projects to life, transforming them into multimedia content – whether photography, audio or video – and, consequently, into educational and scientific materials with potential.

This location also provides technical support and specialized consulting. Equipped with 4K cameras, a teleprompter, virtual set design, and more, the FCCN Studio makes content creation much more accessible.

Anyone can use this resource, as long as it has an academic purpose and is part of a higher education or research institution belonging to the RCTS.

2. Meet remotely with Colibri

This online video conferencing platform from the FCT, developed by FCCN, allows you to meet with multiple people in real time, sharing audio, video, documents, and screens, facilitating collaboration regardless of the participants' physical location.

By providing a link secure access, the Colibri promotes communication, the exchange of ideas, and teamwork, making it a practical solution for teaching, research, and collaborative work. From a simple meeting to group work or class delivery, workshops or webinars, ensures that wherever you are, you will always be nearby.

3. Send large files in seconds with Filesender

Resort to flash drives or praying that the person we sent a file to downloads it before the transfer expires are no longer options.

With the Filesender, sending large files is done through a link via transfer or email, which are available for 30 days. This makes it possible to send files that would be too large for traditional email while ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of the information. This facilitates collaboration between teams and institutions, allowing materials, research data, or documents to be shared.

4. Take your event beyond borders with Videocast

THE Videocast allows you to broadcast live events, reaching audiences anywhere in the world. With this solution, conferences, lectures, seminars, or presentations can be shared in real time, with high-quality image and sound, ensuring that participants can watch remotely.

In addition to broadcasting, it is possible to record and watch later, further increasing the impact of each initiative.

5. Let others know about your work

There are also other digital services that will allow your work to be accessible and reach strategic audiences. If you develop an academic thesis or dissertation, you can publish it on RCAAP. Even more so, if you consider that your work is worthy of being turned into a course online, you can resort to NAU, and if you have a video that you would like everyone to access, the Educast allows you to do so.

These are just some of the resources that aim to collaborate to innovate. There are more than 20 FCT digital services, provided by FCCN, that support the national academic and research community in this objective.
